Nicholas L.
Private tutor in Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Education
I am currently teaching with the Vocational Teaching Council in Hong Kong and have previously taught on an online platform in the UK. I think that being adaptable is extremely important when it comes to teaching and I think that changing my teaching strategy is useful when needed. For this reason, I wouldn't teach two students the same way. I once had a student who had trouble visualizing the problem and I found that by showing him various techniques and cues, he was then able to produce appropriate sketches which allowed him to solve the problem. I have also been involved in several British Olympiad competitions and several Oxbridge level tutorials for interviews. This allowed me to develop these skills further and I am keen on sharing these experiences with students and helping them with university preparations where necessary.
Experience
I am a Theoretical Physics major at the Imperial College, London.

Hobbies
My current hobbies include fitness, reading, hiking, travelling and martial arts. In school, I was an avid rugby, hockey, basketball and badminton player. I've represented my school in both badminton and rugby. Given the opportunity, I love playing the piano. I'm a proud Grade 8 holder for both theory and practical. Nowadays, I've dabbled more with the harmonica and recorder, striving to get better at both of them.
