Wayne T.

Private tutor in Hong Kong, Hong Kong

Education

Hi! My name is Wayne and I am a year 2 undergraduate at the University of Hong Kong, majoring in Biomedical Sciences and my cGPA is 3.6, which is the score for first honors. I graduated from Diocesan Boys School and achieved 40/45 in the IBDP program.

Experience

I have 4 years of tutoring experience and I have taught students of various ages and education. I excel at preparing students for various exams such as IGCSE, GCE, UKISET, , IELTS, IBDP, HKDSE and so on. Why I want to be a tutor is because of the joy and satisfaction that I can get when I see my students improve and achieve better grades. No other job can offer this special feeling other than tutoring. Another reason is that I want to achieve financial independence. Currently, I am paying for my own tuition and daily expenses, and not relying on my parents. Through my teachings, I am able to identify my students weaknesses and target them one by one, in order to provide the best tutoring experience.

Hobbies

Since the age of 7, I have been playing ice hockey in Hong Kong. I travelled to different parts of the world to compete. Because of this, I believe I am very fortunate that I am able to see many things, experience different cultures and hence developed my ability to observe things in different perspectives which greatly helps my tutoring skills. I was also the captain of my team, which greatly aided and improved my communication and problem solving skills. I also participate in various volunteer works and the most memorable one would be visiting homeless people. Through those encounters, it just makes you reflect on your actions and one thing to take from it is that always expect the person you are talking to knows something you do not know. Thus, what I offer to students is not just academic knowledge, but also value systems and different life skills, so that they can be better equipped when entering society and have a better edge than their peers.
